A lioness lies in the green grass of the African savanna with a warthog in her jaws. In this Animal Discovery, we stay close as she feeds in the long grass, then follow the lion pride as the lionesses gather, rest and feed together, and finally two male lions at a carcass as evening falls over the plains. Lionesses do most of the hunting for the pride, and a single kill can feed several lions, so feeding time is a mix of patience, tension and rest. Warning: this video contains natural predator feeding scenes.
Filmed on the African savanna (December 2022). Natural ambient soundscape added in post-production.
